Superintendents speak about 2024 Special Election

COLFAX— With the 2024 Special Election ending on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 7,127 votes had been counted as of Tuesday, Feb. 20, with a turnout of 34.35%.

Whitman County Auditor Sandy Jamison said this year’s special election certification would occur this Friday at 3 p.m.

“We certify the numbers, and then we send the result to the jurisdictions,” Jamison said, noting that in this case, it would be the school districts that decide if it’s passed along with their legal counsel.

Approximately 47 ballots were left to count as of Tuesday, Feb. 20, Jamison reported to the Gazette.
