Pullman fire marshal investigates Storage Express blaze

Structure fire claimed multiple units, over a dozen vehicles

PULLMAN — According to reports, insurance companies and the City of Pullman Fire Department’s Fire Marshal Darren Jones are currently investigating the cause of the structure fire that occurred at approximately noon, Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Express Storage facility located at 6862 WA-270, Pullman, Wash.

Reports say Marshal Jones said that the investigation into the cause of the fire could take several months before being determined.

Volunteer firefighters from District 12 of Pullman were able to save several units; six of the storage units were ultimately destroyed, along with 13 vehicles, a motor home, a camp trailer, and several other vehicles. Smoke damage was present throughout the facility.

According to reports, Jones said that the fire had no indication of anything suspicious and asked the public to send any pictures or videos they might have around the start of the fire or before firefighters arrived.
