Dennis Byrum

Dennis D. Byrum, 75, of Tekoa, Wash., passed away on Feb 7, 2024.

Dennis was born on March 19, 1948, to James (Art) and Barbara Byrum.

Shortly after graduating from high school Dennis joined the Navy. He was part of the crew that assisted in the overhaul of the USS Midway. After serving in the Navy, Dennis attended Eastern Washington University.

Dennis was a hardworking man throughout his entire life. He worked at Oakesdale Grain Growers for a brief period of time before working at Stateline Processors. After more than 20 years Dennis left Stateline Processors and went to work for Co-Ag until his retirement in 2014.

In 1982 Dennis married Alicia Faunce, and they made their home in Tekoa.

One of Dennis’s greatest joys in life was being a proud father to their children Brianna and Bryan. He always supported them wholeheartedly through their endeavors and celebrated their accomplishments.

Dennis was overjoyed to be Papa to his five grandchildren, Axel, Jordan, Davis, Aidan and Pyper who he absolutely adored and loved endlessly.

Dennis’s family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Dennis will remember his amazing sense of humor. Whether it was sharing stories or cracking jokes during family gatherings – his presence made every moment brighter

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Dennis is survived by two sisters, Sharon Siders of Mishicot, Wis., and Barb Byrum of Spokane, Wash., as well as many nephews and nieces.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Larry, Ed, and Don, and his in-laws, Dan & Doy Faunce, Greg Faunce and Al Faunce.
