Patricia Ann Pierce

Patricia Ann (Reed) Pierce came into this world May 19, 1931, in Colfax, Wash., at the home of her great grandmother Rozella Conover. Her parents were Leslie L. Reed and Lucille Mulkey Reed. She was a granddaughter of Whitman County pioneers JR and Gracie White Mulkey and CF Reed and Ida Conover Reed. Mother learned a strong work ethic from both sets of grandparents. Her first seven years were spent on the Mulkey Ranch on Hwy 23. She attended elementary school at St. John and Ewan and St. John High School.

Gilbert W. Pierce and Patricia Reed were married August 28, 1948, in Coeur 'd Alene, Idaho. They were married 50 years before Gilbert passed away in 1998. Three children were born to this union: Beth, Ward and Debbie. The family moved to St. John in 1952 when Gilbert went to work for St. John Grange Supply. Pat was very active in the construction and set up of the community building and she enjoyed cooking/baking, quilting, gardening and flowers, card playing and spending time with her family.

Pat is survived by daughters Beth Zehm and Debbie Lillquist, a daughter-in-law Kathy Pierce and a brother, Charles (Jan) Reed. Grandchildren include Melissa, Chad, Jeannie, Gil and Andy. Great-grandchildren are Tyler, Casey, Drew, Hailey, Julia, Jack, Olivia, Morgan, Liam, Bear, Ember and Alexa; and one great-great grandson, Mason. Surviving Zehm children include Dwight, Barry and Keith Zehm. And Beth's grandchildren Eric, Bree, Angela, Amy and Andrew.

Preceeding her in death were her husband, Gilbert, a son, Ward, sons-in-law, Leonard Zehm and Kemp Lilliquist, grandchildren Justin and Danielle, Gary Zehm and Polly Zehm and sisters Marilyn Peterson and Gracie Reed.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8th, at the St. John Community. A dessert potluck is planned. Donations may be made to the St. John Community Building or to the St. John Fire Department.
