Malden hosts fire station ribbon cutting

MALDEN — The Town of Malden is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the construction of its new municipal building housing the fire station, post office, town hall and clerk’s office on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at 14 West Moreland Avenue.

According to past reports, the City of Malden received a grant of $930,000 from the Department of Commerce to build the new fire station, which replaces the original building that was destroyed in the Babb Road Fire on Sept. 7, 2020.

Past reports state that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) allotted the town an additional $4.2 million to fund the town hall and post office.

With the funds the Town of Malden has replaced the buildings, and invite the public to attend.
