Linda May Peringer

Our loving Mother, Linda May Peringer, 80 years young, sadly left us on January 11, 2024. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her children, family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Linda enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, gardening and spending time with her dogs. Her greatest enjoyment came from being a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Linda was born to Walter and Berniece Sayers on October 8th, 1943, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She graduated from Oakesdale High School and moved to Virginia where she met and married Allen Downing in 1961. They had four children, Tammy, Lynetta, Lawrence and Audra.

Linda moved back to Oakesdale in 1970 where she met and married Rodney Peringer in 1972. In addition to Rodney's sons, Tad and Robin, they had a daughter Lori.

She is survived by her sisters, Joann (Johnathan) Herson, Sharon Heise and Susan (Brad) Phillips and her children Tammy (Dave) Massingill, Lynetta (Dennis) Bigness, Lawrence (Maria) Peringer, Audra (Chris) Peringer, Lori (Dan) Gerber, Tad Peringer and Robin Peringer; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as many counsins, nieces and nephews near and dear to her heart.

Her family will gather for a private service at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital or the Oakesdale Cemetery.
