Endicott man arrested after intoxicated night

ENDICOTT — A local man was arrested and booked into the Whitman County Jail on Sunday, Dec. 17, after threatening to kill a neighbor.

Jason Randall Gazaway, 44, of Endicott, was charged with one count of Harassment Threaten to Kill and is currently held without bail through Whitman County Superior Court.

Reports say that Whitman County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Christopher Olin responded to a call at approximately 0024 hours. Mitchell Dean reported that Gazaway threatened to kill Joshua Garrett at a Kackman Road residence outside Endicott.

Olin reportedly spoke with Gazaway at his trailer, as Gazaway lives in his trailer on Garrett’s property at Kackman Road.

Reports say that other witnesses to the event included Jereme Chapman, Fred Chapman, Mitch Dean and Desiree Chappell.

Joshua and Jereme reportedly told Olin that Gazaway was highly intoxicated earlier in the

evening.

Reports say that the men asked Gazaway to leave the house and he did. However, Gazaway returned and Jereme stopped him from entering at the door.

Gazaway allegedly told Joshua that he would shoot him. After Jereme tried to get Gazaway to

return to his trailer, Gazaway refused. Gazaway reportedly continued to tell Joshua that he would shoot him before he thrust his hands into his pockets suddenly.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, Jereme believed Gazaway’s threats were credible and tackled Gazaway. However, after checking his pockets, nothing was found and Gazaway was unarmed.

Gazaway was placed under arrest and transported to the Whitman County Jail.
