Tekoa-Rosalia girls winless

TEKOA — The Tekoa-Rosalia girls basketball team battled hard during their second week of action, but still are in search of their elusive first win.

The next game for the Timberwolves in the week was against conference opponent Garfield-Palouse Vikings.

The Vikings hosted the Timberwolves, and would rout Tekoa-Rosalia in the game, winning 72-28.

The Timberwolves had their backs against the wall early, trailing by seven after the first quarter before being out scored by 24 in the second quarter to trail by 31 at half time.

The Timberwolves would come out firing in the third quarter, scoring 10 points, but could not score at the level needed, and fell 72-28.

Babb was the high scorer in the game for the Timberwolves. She finished with eight points on 2/8 shooting.

Libby Lehn had six points for the Timberwolves on 1/2 shooting.

The Timberwolves played a decent game defensively, the team only allowed 11 fouls in the game. The problem for Tekoa-Rosalia was the turnovers. The Timberwolves would have 36 turnovers as a team compared to just 12 from the Vikings.

The Timberwolves have lost their 40th game in a row, dating back to the 2019-20 season.

In the 2019-20 season, the Timberwolves went 1-19 on the season, their lone win was the second game of the season, where the team would lose their next 19 games.

The highest win season in the recent decade was the 2014-15 season when the team went 7-11 overall.

The next game for the Timberwolves will be Friday, Dec. 15, when the team will host the Colton Wildcats.

The game will be played in Palouse, and is set to start at 6 p.m.

After the girls game, the Timberwolf boys will follow, starting at 7:30 p.m.
