Tekoa-Rosalia boys add one win and loss to record

Will face Colton Wildcats in conference game Friday

TEKOA - After starting the 2023-24 season 2-1 in the first week, the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves would have two more games to improve their record in week two.

The first game was on Tuesday, Dec. 5. The game was played in Tekoa, and was against the Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights.

The Timberwolves would lead early, and continue their lead throughout the length of the game as they cruised to a 73-44 victory, improving their record to 3-1.

The first quarter saw Tekoa-Rosalia lead 9-6 early, with all nine points being scored by Isaac Bone. The quarter would end with the Timberwolves leading 19-6, 12 of which were Bone's.

In the second quarter the Timberwolves would lead 24-9 before reaching a 31-10 lead. The half would end with the Timberwolves up 39-11. Bone would score 18 points in total in the first half.

The second half saw Tekoa-Rosalia lose the third quarter 12-11, but the Timberwolves would outscore the Knights by two in the fourth quarter to win the game 73-44.

Bone would finish with 37 points in the game and 12 rebounds. He went 15/31 on field goal attempts with five made threes for the Timberwolves.

Vanden Allen added 11 points on five made baskets in the game with nine rebounds, and Thomas and Brian Place both had eight points each in the game. Thomas would also have 14 rebounds for Tekoa-Rosalia.

The next game for the Timberwolves was played on Saturday, Dec. 9, against the Garfield-Palouse Vikings.

The Timberwolves would start slow, trailing by 14 early, before coming up short in their conference match up, losing 70-56.

Bone scored four of the Timberwolf 10 points in the first quarter, but the Vikings had a starter score 10 points himself in the first to help the Vikings take a 14-point lead into the second quarter.

Tekoa-Rosalia would out score the Vikings 15-13 in the second quarter, but trailed 25-37 at halftime. Bone scored eight points in the second quarter to help lead the Timberwolf charge.

After the break, Tekoa-Rosalia again out scored the Vikings by two, this time a 19-17 quarter advantage for the Timberwolves heading into the fourth. This time, Bone had 11 points in the quarter to lead Tekoa-Rosalia.

With momentum on their side the Timberwolves looked to bring a strong fourth quarter to the Vikings, however, Garfield-Palouse were ready, out scoring Tekoa-Rosalia by four to earn the victory.

Bone finished with 28 points in the game. Allen had 12 points and Ziyon Marsh had eight points.

The Timberwolves had zero bench points in the game, where as the Vikings had six.

For the Vikings, Landon Orr had 17 points to lead Garfield-Palouse. Bryce Pfaff would score an additional 14 points for Garfield-Palouse in the game as they defeated conference opponent Tekoa-Rosalia.

Colton Pfaff had eight points for the Vikings.

Bone has been the leading scorer in every game for the Timberwolves. If Tekoa-Rosalia want to make a run for the state tournamnet, they need help from the other four starters, as well as solid production from the bench when the team needs a spark to kick start quarters.
