Fentanyl leads to arrest

Jailed man facing charges for alleged drug-dealing

COLFAX— Two people were arrested Sunday, Dec. 3, and booked into the Whitman County Jail in connection with a fentanyl drug deal.

Travis James Craig, 52, was arrested on four counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count of driving with his license suspended.

He is being held without bail through Whitman County Superior Court, records show.

His passenger, Noelle Reese Dye, 25, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance-fentanyl and is being held on a $500 cash bail through Whitman County District District Court, records show.

The duo were arrested following a traffic stop, Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers said Tuesday.

Craig was northbound and failed to dim his high-beam headlights when passing another vehicle, Myers said.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop and contacted Craig, records show. The deputy was able to see tinfoil folded, indicating the use of a controlled substance.

Craig offered no information when asked to provide his drivers license and still had his bright lights on, records show.

The deputy reported that Craig’s eyes were constricted, which he believed to be consistent with the potential use of opiates and fentanyl, records show.

Due to drug use in the car and additional burned foil in the area, deputies got a search warrant, locating more fentanyl, records show, noting the driver and passenger were then arrested.
