Timberwolves still winless after defensive collapse against Pirates

Timberwolves allowed 90 points during game

ROSALIA – The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves football team (0-5, 0-4 in district) are desperate for their first win on the season with just a handful of games to go.

The Timberwolves hosted the Pomeroy Pirates (6-1, 5-1 in district) on Friday, Oct. 13.

The game was played in Rosalia.

The game was the homecoming game or the Timberwolves. The school had festivities and events all week leading up to the game, as well as a dance on Saturday, Oct. 14, to cap off the week.

The game for the Timberwolves saw nothing at all on offense from Tekoa-Rosalia. They would lose the game 90-0, their worst loss of the season by far.

The 90 points in the game for the Pirates is the highest they scored this season in a game. The week prior, the Pirates beat the Dayton Bulldogs 76-0 on Friday, Oct. 6.

The Pirates scored 44 of their 90 points in the first quarter, quickly asserting their dominance, and putting the running clock into play after just one quarter.

Pomeroy added 24 unanswered points in the second quarter to head into the halftime locker room leading 68-0.

Coming out of the break the Pirates scored three more touchdowns in the second half to get to 90 points, all while holding the Timberwolves scoreless for the second time this season.
