Timberwolves still searching for a win

T-wolves battle with a top ranking 1B division team

TEKOA - The Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves (0-3) are still hungry to get into the winning column after they were bested by Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian.

The game was played Friday, Sept. 29, and took place in Tekoa.

In the game, the Timberwolves lost 52-20, with Moses Lake trailing the entire first quarter, before coming alive in the second and third quarters.

Tekoa struck first in the game, leading 8-0 after three minutes of game time.

The Lions would score later in the quarter, but fail the conversion, and trail 8-6, where the quarter ends.

The Lions burn four minutes off the second quarter clock before scoring their touchdown by way of a quarterback rush. They now lead 14-8, their first lead of the game.

After the touchdown, the Lions would recover their onside kick attempt, but fumble on their first play, giving the ball to Tekoa.

Westley Bryan would score a 20-yard rushing touchdown for the Timberwolves on the drive, tying the game at 14 with seven minutes to go in the half.

The next drive was a passing touchdown for the Lions, who now lead 20-14.

Tekoa took the ball and fumbles, setting the Lions up for another score, now leading 28-14, heading into the halftime locker room up two scores.

The start of the second half saw the Lions strike first, who now lead 36-14.

The Timberwolves would only score one touchdown in the second half, and gave up 24 points to Moses Lake in the half, who comfortably took the 52-20 victory.

The Lions are now 5-0 on the season, and are currently 11th in state based off of RPI rankings for the WIAA 1B division.
