Garfield hosts second annual Harvest Festival

GARFIELD — The town of Garfield is hosting its second annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14, starting at 4 p.m.

Coordinator Sarah Anderson said the event would kick off when the Ruck for the Fallen group hits town, rucking from multiple towns, including Palouse, Elberton and Oakesdale.

Anderson said Palouse Brewing Company will also provide a beer garden, and Aaron Rager and the Back Country Blues Badasses will perform live music.

“We have about 20 vendors lined up right now,” Anderson said, noting that some will be in the street and some in the community center down the alleyway behind the library building.

Anderson said vendors will sell baked goods and crafts, noting that attendees can get some Holiday shopping done. “There will also be kettle corn and a taco truck,” she said.

The event will have a street dance, Anderson said. For those who want to stay later for the beer garden and dance, the event will end whenever people decide to pack up.

“We’re a small farming community, and we wanted to offer something for the residents of Garfield to celebrate the harvest and enjoy some relaxing fun,” Anderson said, encouraging everyone to come on out and have a good time.
