Four Whitman County teams compete in XC League Meet #1

REARDAN - St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Colfax, Colton, and Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) all traveled to Reardan to compete in the first league meet of the season.

The meet was held on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and had boys and girls three mile varsity runs.

The Vikings took top boys and girls honors in the meet.

On the girls side, there was a total of 59 competitors, with Allie Robertson of NW Christian (Colbert) taking first with a run of 21:04.67.

Second place was GAR-PAL's own Ashleigh Hightree, who ran her race in 21:40.17.

Also for GAR-PAL on the girls side were Lola Edwards, Courage Hightree, Arabella Sievers, HettyLee Laughary, and Ainsley Sievers.

Edwards finished fifth overall with her race of 22:10.08. Courage took seventh, she ran a time of 22:48.99. Arabella finished ninth with a run of 23:49.42. Laughary would finish 12th, running in 25:03.14, and Ainsley finished 46th with a run of 32:00.26.

"Ultimately, it was a solid outing for both programs with nice contributions from our under classes," said GAR-PAL coach Cook.

For SJEL, they had one girl runner. Keira Maloney finished 36th for the Eagles, running her race in 29:42.3.

For the Colton Wildcats, they also had just one runner on the girls side. The Wildcats got a 22nd place finish from sophomore Rori Weber, who ran in 26:25.21.

The Bulldogs produced three runners. The highest finishing Bulldog was Gabby Rabaiotti. She ran a time of 27:20.21, good for 29th overall.

Queenie Mayer finished 50th, running a time of 34:21.9, and freshman Paige Eads finished 58th with her run of 37:21.67.

On the boys side, there were 135 total runners, with the top runner being Ty Crockett of Chewelah. His race was run in 17:10.21.

The top Whitman County boy was Brendan Snekvik. He finished fourth for the Vikings, running a time of 17:53.45.

Sixth place was Kieran Snekvik. His time was 18:14.8.

Also for the Vikings was Isaiah Hightree, Ayden Bassler, Ethan Lawson, Liam Cook, and Spaulding Vulliet.

Hightree finished 23rd, running his race in 20:12.57, and Bassler finished 34th, with a race of 20:37.77.

For the Eagles, they had four runners. Cameron Mathia finished 76th for the Eagles, his race time was 23:20.35. William Tollett finished 92, with a run of 24:12.67, followed closely by Birch Brown, who ran a 24:15.05, finishing 94th.

David Logen finished 109th for SJEl.

The Wildcats had seven runners compete. Their highest finisher was Tanner Baerlocher, who finished eighth, running his race in 18:36.05.

Freshman Wyatt Baysinger finished 69th for the Wildcats, his time was 22:58.17.

The other runners and placings for the Wildcats were: Ryan Impson, 84th, Brennan Schlee, 93rd, Loren Heitstuman, 99th, Jake Moehrle, 118th, and Joey Hemighaus.

For the Colfax Bulldogs, they brought four runners to the race.

Their highest finisher was Jacob Ward, who finished 86th with a time of 23:46.42.

Brandon Pingle finished 122nd, and Keagan Mackleit and Kage Cox finished 128-129 for the Bulldogs.
