St. Ignatius Hospital to open doors daily in October

COLFAX –– St. Ignatius is opening up its doors every day for October as Halloween approaches.

“We have an 85% return rate,” said St. Ignatius’ ghost tour coordinator, Valoree Gregory. “September to October are really big.”

Following the new repairs and safety measures constructed by the owner of St. Ignatius, Austin Storm, the building now allows for self-guided tours through the building.

“I added a self-guided tour for people to come explore and tour and take photos,” Gregory added.

Starting in October, tours on Fridays and Saturdays will open up thrice daily, and tours will also be offered every weekday. Tours are roughly three hours and are made up of small groups.

“We try to fit in as many people as possible because we know people want to come in,” she said. “I keep the numbers low because I want people to have a good experience.”

The preservation construction project in the building has also opened up two large rooms currently under construction. Despite the construction work, the building maintains structural integrity and does not hold back on the haunting sights.

“We’ll keep doing ghost hunts for a long time, and I love that they are doing something. We wouldn’t be in year nine if it weren’t for Austin and Laura. The building looks so good now, and their preservation is wonderful,” said Gregory.

Tickets for tours can be found online at colfaxhauntedhospital.com, with a calendar that shows available times.
