City of Palouse looks towards local improvements

The Palouse city Tennis Courts, a hopeful recipient for rehabilitation.

PALOUSE - The city of Palouse received a $200,000 loan to improve sidewalks from the State of Washington Public Work Board at the beginning of this month and is looking into funding the rehabilitation of the city tennis courts.

Palouse Mayor Tim Sievers said the loan will improve with curbing and storm weather run off Palouse Cove Road. "We're trying to extend walkability to the areas of new development," Sievers said, adding that part of the project ensures safe sidewalks and good storm water drain off.

The project will have safe access for kids on the Palouse Cove Road, Sievers said.
