A look ahead to 1B County sports

ST. JOHN — Coming off a hot showing from the Yakima Sun Dome Invitational tournament Friday, Sept. 8, the St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles are ready to step into another district game.

THE SJEL volleyball team will play Thursday, Sept. 14, against the Colton Wildcats. This will be a home game for the Eagles, with the game being played in LaCrosse, first serve is set for 6 p.m. The Eagles will then play an away game Tuesday, Sept. 19, against the Garfield-Palouse (GAR-PAL) Vikings. The game will be in Palouse and is set for 6 p.m.

Before the game against SJEL, GAR-PAL will travel to Reardan to take on the Screaming Eagles. The game will be played Thursday, Sept. 14, and is set to start at 6:30 p.m.

The Vikings will also take part in the Tekoa-Rosalia volleyball Spikefest tournament, happening Saturday, Sept. 16, in Rosalia at 9 a.m.

For the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves, they will have an away game Thursday, Sept. 14, against Dayton in Dayton starting at 6 p.m. before hosting Spikefest. The Timberwolves then will travel to Colton Tuesday, Sept. 19, to take on the Wildcats. The game is set to start at 6 p.m.

Before the Wildcats take on the Timberwolves, they will head to Asotin to take on the Panthers on Monday, Sept. 18. The game is set to start at 6 p.m.

The Oakesdale Nighthawks will host Mary-Walker for a non-conference game Saturday, Sept. 16, at noon. They then will play another non-district game, this time on Tuesday, Sept. 19, an away game in Coulee City against Almira-Coulee-Hartline. The game is set to start at 6 p.m.

In Football, Colton and Genesee will play Saturday, Sept. 16. The game will be an away game in Logos, against Logos, with kick off set for 7 p.m.

SJEL will travel to Touchet to take on the Redhawks Friday, Sept. 15. Kick off is set for 3 p.m.

The 2-0 GAR-PAL Vikings will travel to DeSales to take on the Irish Friday, Sept 15. Kick off will be at 7 p.m.

Tekoa-Rosalia have their game Friday, Sept. 15 against Yakama Tribal cancelled. Their next game will be Friday, Sept. 22, against Waitsburg. The game will be played in Rosalia, with kick off set for 7 p.m.
