Colfax athletics kick off this week

Bulldogs gear up for game against Broncos

COLFAX - The school year has started for Colfax, and with that, fall sports are right around the corner.

Starting Friday, September 1, Colfax opens their football season. They will host Lind-Ritzville with kick off set for 7 p.m.

"Everyone in the league predicted them to be first, rightfully so. They're big, strong, and physical, we gotta play a really good game," head coach Mike Morgan said.

Morgan also said that his Bulldogs are "ready to hit somebody other than us."

This game is the first chance for Colfax to work out the bugs and jitters of the start of a season. Colfax did not compete in a jamboree this year, so the game against Lind-Ritzville is the first time the team is playing against someone other than themselves.

For Volleyball, the Colfax Bulldogs start their season in Spokane as they are taking on Shadle Park Tuesday, September 5. The Bulldogs do not have another volleyball game until Tuesday, September 12, which will be another away match against Upper Columbia Academy. There was a planned volleyball jamboree in Colfax this Saturday, September 2, but it has been canceled due to scheduling issues.

For Cross Country, Colfax opens their season Tuesday, September 5, at the Josh Wright Memorial Jamboree and Mud Run, taking place at Northwest Christian High School. Other teams in the district attending the jamboree are: Davenport, Liberty, Kettle Falls, and Northwest Christian.
