COLFAX — Whitman County District Court reported the following criminal conviction sentences from Aug. 24

Aug. 24

• Wendy Lierman was found guilty of negligent driving in the first degree.

• Zaiyu Zhang was found guilty of negligent driving in the first degree, thefore the defendant is sentenced to 90 days of jail, 90 suspended, and a fine of $500, $500 suspended. Zhang has fines totally $343, and shall make minimum montly payments of $50 starting on Oct. 1, 2023. Defendant may perform community service in lieu of $300, credited at $16 an hour approved by probation deparment, and finished by Dec. 31, 2023. Defendant must have no criminal violations of law or alcohol related infractions. Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months, unsupervised for last 12 months if all essential requirments are meet. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assessment, filed proof and copy by Sept. 29. 2023, and begin within 45 days. Defendant must attend DUI Victim Impact Panel within 3 months. Defendant is ordered to not drive with a .02 BAC or higher or any active THC in their system for the full length of probation. Defendant may petition for early termination of probation after 12 months and after successful completion of all terms of the sentence.

• Tatum Flanagan was found guilty of negligent driving first degree, therefore the defendant is sentenced to 90 days of jail, 89 suspended, and a fine of $1,000, $500 suspended. Defendant must serve 1 day in jail. 1 day in jail can be converted 12 hours community service, which may be done out of county at the defendant’s expense. The defendant has fines totalling $1,143, with monthly payments of $50 starting Oct. 1, 2023. Defendant has supervised probation for 24 months, unsupervised for last 12 months if requirements are met. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assments from a Washington State approved agency with filed copy by Sept. 29, 2023, and begin within 45 days with filed proof of enrollment. Defendant must attend a DUI Victim Impact Panel within 3 months. Defendant shall be granted a dollar-for-dollar credit, applied to fine for any out-of-pocket expenses for evaluation, treatment and VIP. Defendant may petition for early termination of probation after 18 months and successful completion all terms of the sentence.

• Tanner Berzett, was found guilty of driving under the influence, therefore the defendant is sentenced to 364 days of jail, 334 suspended, and a fine of $2,000, $754.50 suspended. Defendant must serve a total of 30 days in jail with credit for 2 days served. The defendant has a total of $2,188.50 in fines, with monthly payments of $50 starting on Sept. 1, 2023. Defendant may perform community service in lieu of $1,245.50, credited at $16 an hour and approved in advance by probation department, completed by Dec. 31, 2024. The court has ordereed the defendant to refrain from consuming alcohol, monitored, and pay the cost of monitoring. Defendant has supervised probation for 48 months, unsupervised for last 24 months if requirements have been completed. Defendant must obtain an expanded alcohol assessment from a Washington State approved agency with filed proof by Sept. 29, 2023, and begin within 45 days. Defendant must attend Dui Victim Impact Panel within 3 months. Defendant’s privilege to drive in the State of Washington shall be suspended for 2 years. The Court reimposes 60 days jail, converted to 60 days EHM or SCRAM, shall be credited days SCRAM installed, reimburse Court for costs of SCRAM. Defendant shall be granted a dollar-for-dollar credit, applied to fine for any out-of-pocket expenses for eval and VIP. Probation costs may be adjusted accountign for costs.
