WCL presents "Past Meets Present" exhibit

COLFAX —Whitman County Library started exhibiting Atheneaum Club’s “Past Meets Present” in the Center at the Colfax Library Saturday, July 29, running through Thursday, August 31.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from noon to 3 p.m., with members to discuss the club in attendance.

The Atheneaum Club has supported the local Colfax community with literary, musical, and artistic projects since 1895. The exhibit will celebrate the society of the club by comparing its historical past with present endeavors.

The exhibit shows how the dedicated group of women has encouraged activities, including literary and musical events by local high school students, historical projects by the Perkins House Museum, and many others during their 128 years in Colfax.
