Whitman County resident and Gazette reporter Olivia Harnack, 21, raced a Yamaha WaveBlaster to a second-place finish in the Runabout class, and to third place in the Sport and Runabout Open classes during the Apple Pie Jamboree's watercross event on the Columbia River. The event took place Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, in Pateros. Harnack was sponsored by Tom Yamamoto of Priest River, Idaho.
