Primary Election voting ends Aug. 1

Three candidates running for Pullman Mayor position

COLFAX — With only a few days left to vote in the Whitman County August Primary Election, Pullman voters are deciding who to vote for Mayor.

Whitman County Auditor Sandy Jamison stated that out of the 12,689 ballots sent out, the elections office had received 600 votes as of the morning of Tuesday, July 25.

Jamison said the voter percentage will change daily, and they’ll get more ballots next week. As of press time, July 25, voter turnout is sitting at only 4.7% based on figures given from the Whitman County Auditor’s Office.

“We emptied in Pullman,” Jamison said, adding that they’ll be emptying the ballot boxes again next week and on election day.

Jamison stated that they are reminding people to vote because this is the last week of the primary election, so those whose ballots are sitting on their dining room tables can return them to Colfax at the Whitman County Elections Office, open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Votes can also be turned in at the 24-hour drop-box location in the alley behind the Public Service Building, 310 North Main Street.

In Pullman, ballots can be dropped off at the 24-hour drive-up box across from the Paradise Creek Brewery at 238 Southeast Paradise Street.

There is a 24-hour drop-box located in the Rosauers Parking Lot in Pullman, 1205 North Grand Avenue.

All drop-box locations will be locked at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, Election Day.

The Whitman County Elections Department will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, to vote.
