Colfax local promoted to law firm partner

COLFAX - Local Joshua Huber, 28, was promoted in May to partner at Baumgarten Law Offices in Pullman.

In 2020, Huber joined Baumgarten Law Offices as an attorney after his professional friend Connie Ellis who worked in the Whitman County Courthouse, suggested him to Baumgarten, he explained.

Like any other kid, Huber had a variety of careers that he imagined himself pursuing, he shared.

"Ever since Junior High, I knew the law was where I wanted to go the most," he said.

Huber shared that the inspiration for his law career started from his mom, who went to a year and a half of law school. His parents got married, and she didn't end up finishing.

"I felt compelled to complete what she had started," Huber said.

Huber stated that he handles a lot of family law, wills across the state, property transactions and similar caseloads. With his new partnership, he has taken on managerial duties as well.

"I'm looking forward to doing more," he said, noting that he appreciates the promotion and the recognition for the work that he's been doing.

"The versatility of it, how much you can do while still in the same profession," he said in response to the question about what he enjoys the most about his career.

Huber stated that he feels like he can help his community in various ways, "which is what I wanted to do in the first place, and I'm looking forward to doing more," he said.

Born and raised in Colfax, Huber's family has owned and operated Huber Action Freight since 1991.

Huber graduated from Colfax High School in 2013. He obtained his undergraduate at Whitworth University in Spokane and then attended the University of Idaho School of Law.
