SEWEDA hosts Business Basics Lunch and Learn classes

Classes offered for those who wish to start a business

COLFAX — The Southeast Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA) is partnering with Walla Walla Community College offering an eight-week series of one-hour Business Basics Lunch and Learn classes that started Wednesday, June 21.

Executive Director for SEWEDA Erika Stricker stated that the Business Basics Lunch and Learn series is geared towards individuals just starting to explore opening their businesses.

“We are very grateful to have such a stellar group of community leaders and industry experts volunteering their time to provide a practical, high-level overview of information that is perfect for budding entrepreneurs,” Stricker said, adding that she hopes that the classes will draw in people who have had businesses ideas in mind for a while but don’t know where to start.

“That is what SEWEDA is here for, to help connect people with the resources available to them,” she said.

The full schedule and registration for the Business Basics Lunch and Learn are available at http://www.seweda.org, and individuals can register for as few or as many classes as they choose. Attending all eight classes is not required; each class has a limit of 40 individuals.

Class co-hosts include Tracy Sereda, Walla Walla Community College; Jesse Duman and Darren Malm, P1FCU Business Services; Tami Meyers and Gary Bergen, Team BMC - Silvercreek; Doug Bauer and Kaitlyn Hinkley, Studio 1892; Cory Lenz, KLEW TV; and Tileena Johnson, Pacific Empire/DailyFLY Media.
