Palouse Community Center Annual Ice Cream Social coming soon

PALOUSE — Palouse is hosting its annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser for the Palouse Community Center Sunday, July 9, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Palouse City Park.

The event will include homemade pies donated by Xenodican and Round Table clubs and ice cream available for purchase and donated by Palouse Slots and Hobbies.

The Distinguished Young Women of Palouse will serve the ice cream to attendees. Attendees can purchase burgers, fries, and beverages through the Palouse Lion’s Club.

Event organizer Cheryl Sanders explained that they started the fundraiser around 1974 to raise money to build and do renovations on the Community Center in Palouse.

She explained that the event has had over 350 people in attendance before.

Sanders said the town joined the Xenodican, Round Table Clubs, and the Lions Club to bring the Ice Cream Social to life.

“All the profit funds go to the community center to help keep it going and help with the overhead,” she said, adding that the center houses the senior’s lunch.
