Garfield Library hosts Lego competition

GARFIELD — One of the biggest hits at the Garfield Library is the annual Lego competition.

Wednesday, July 19, will see the Garfield Library light up with different Lego designs to be put on display. The competition opens at 12:30 p.m.

Teams of 2-4 people, which can vary in age from 5-105, will be competing in a Lego challenge to work together to create their Lego creation.

This year’s theme for the build will be any project based off their favorite book.

“I am hoping to display the book with each Lego creation,” said Sarah Anderson, Garfield branch manager.

After the hour long event concludes, the creations will be put on display for a month at the State Bank Northwest in Garfield.

“Members of the community will vote on their favorite, and the winning team will get a small prize,” Anderson said.

The winners of the event will be announced onc month after the build day, with final announcements coming August 21.
