Clara M. Moore

Clara M. Moore, 101, of LaCrosse, Wash., passed away June 15, 2023, at Whitman Health and Rehab in Colfax, Wash.

Clara was born January 5, 1922, in Pasco, Wash. She grew up in Kahlotus, Wash., and was the oldest of four girls. Following high school Clara married James D. Moore on July 28, 1940, and the made the family farm their home.

Together with her parents they operated the farm in Kahlotus for a time until moving to Hay, Wash., where she operated the farm, had many animals, and raised their family. They later moved to LaCrosse, Wash., where she has made her home since that time.

Clara was an active 4H Leader and worked at the LaCrosse School District for many years. She loved all animals especially horses, and worked as a Vet Tech for a while. Clara enjoyed snowmobiling, crocheting, knitting and ceramics. She was extremely artistic in nature. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and especially enjoyed family time camping at Rose Springs. Clara was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Colfax.

She is survived by two sisters, Lois & Nellie; nine grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, sons Bill & Ralph Moore, daughters Lois Camp & Ruth Martin, and sister Suzy. The viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Colfax, 2652 Almota Road. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the church. Vault interment will be held following the services at the LaCrosse Cemetery.
