Bulldogs Varsity Softball scores another victory

Bulldogs take down Reardan in doubleheader

COLFAX –– The Bulldogs defeated Reardan in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22.

The day's first game led off with Kristen Akkeson and Natalie Maxwell finishing the game with a strong victory.

Colfax Bulldogs secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the third inning. Devan Becker, Brenna Gilchrist, Harper Booth, Delaney Imler, Harley Hennigar, and Kendall Clinton each scored RBIs in the inning.

Gilchrist started the Bulldogs off in the first inning, scoring one run.

Kaylynn Clouse brought some hope to Reardan in the third inning after scoring one run.

Imler was the winning pitcher for Colfax. The right-hander went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits. Imler also struck out eight and walked zero.

Akkeson threw one inning in relief for Imler.

Clouse was on the rubber for Reardan. She surrendered 17 runs on 14 hits over four innings, striking out three.

Colfax Bulldogs racked up 14 hits in the game. Karmen Akkeson, Becker, Booth, Imler, Ella Jones, and Hennigar each collected multiple hits.

Akkeson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Colfax in hits. The Bulldogs didn't commit a single error on the field.

Booth had the most chances in the field with 12.

Thanks to a boost in the first inning of the second game, the Bulldogs knocked out a 12-2 victory over Reardan.

Colfax Varsity Bulldogs scored seven runs in the first inning. Hennigar, Jessa Patnode, Alaina McCully, and Karmen Akkeson each had RBIs in the inning.

Whitney Nave heated things for Reardan after scoring a single on the first pitch of the at-bat. Nave scored one run.

Karmen Akkeson led the Colfax team in the pitcher's circle. She went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five.

Shylah Nortz took the loss for Reardan. Nortz went five innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out two.

Hennigar, Clinton, Imler, Kirsten Akkeson, Booth, Patnode, Gilchrist, and McCully each scored one hit to lead the team.

Colfax Bulldogs Varsity stole five bases during the game, as two players stole more than one.

Colleen Ellis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Reardan in hits.

Colfax Varsity Softball will play Northwest Christain School at an away game on Saturday, April 29, at 3 p.m.
