Bulldogs secured their seventh and eighth win on Senior Night

COLFAX –– Colfax Varsity Baseball defeated the Dayton-Waitsburg (D/W) Wolfpack on Senior Night Tuesday, April 25.

The Wolfpack was smoked out in the doubleheader as the Bulldogs added two more wins to their winning streak.

Three Colfax Varsity Bulldogs pitched to gain the 13-0 win in the first game. Erik Christensen induced a flyout from Jasper Morrow to finish off the game.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the first inning with Braden Plummer's sac fly that scored one run.

Colfax Bulldogs tallied five runs in the second inning. The big batters were led in charge by Trenton Lyman, J.J. Bodey, Mason Gilchrist, and Cody Inderrieden.

A Single by Klint Kuykendall in the fourth inning gave some hope to the Wolfpack.

Alex Mortensen took the mound and lasted two innings. He allowed zero hits and runs while striking out three and walking one. Inderrieden and Christensen entered the game out of the bullpen to help close the game in relief.

Levi Boudrieau started the game for D/W Wolfpack. Boudrieau lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs. Isaias Reyes and Traicen Garcia entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning.

The Varsity Bulldogs scored 13 hits in the game. Gilchrist, J.D. Peterson, Inderrieden, and Plummer all had multiple hits for the Varsity Bulldogs.

Petersen and Gilchrist each managed three hits to lead Colfax Varsity Bulldogs.

The second game was an absolute blowout for the Bulldogs, scoring a 22-0 win against D/W Wolfpack.

The Bulldogs were boosted by Gilchrist, who went 5-for-5 at the plate. Gilchrist singled in the first, in the second, in the third, and in the fourth.

Gilchrist got the Bulldogs on the board in the first inning after his first single.

Colfax Varsity Bulldogs scored 13 runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was led by singles from Jude Hahn, Gilchrist, Tyler Peterson, J.D. Peterson, and Alton Burt.

Doubles by Peterson and Alex Mortensen gave the team a further lead.

Kuykendall once again secured a single in the third inning for the D/W Wolfpack.

Peterson brought the victory at the mound for Colfax Bulldogs. The right-hander went for two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out four and walking zero.

Garcia took the loss for D/W Wolfpack. Garcia allowed five hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out four.

Colfax Varsity Bulldogs collected 20 hits in the game. Gilchrist, Peterson, Plummer, Bodey, Hahn, and Burt each collected multiple hits for Colfax Varsity Bulldogs. Gilchrist went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Colfax Varsity Bulldogs in hits.

The Bulldogs will face Northwest Christain School in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 29, at 6 p.m.
