Colfax Bulldogs varsity softball falls to Liberty

COLFAX –– Tuesday’s game on April 18 was a heated match against Liberty. In the first game, Liberty took a 4-2 win against Colfax.

The Bulldogs lost the lead late in the fifth inning.

The game was tied at two with Liberty batting in the bottom of the fifth when Hailey Carter scored one run for Liberty.

The Bulldogs started things in the first inning when an error scored one run for the team.

Jordyn Jeske led things off in the circle for Liberty. She allowed one hit and two runs over seven innings, striking out 13.

Delaney Imler took the mound for Colfax and lasted six innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out six and walking one.

Harper Booth went 1-fo-3 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs in hits.

Karmen Akkeson scored two runs, the most on the team.

Despite their loss, the Bulldogs picked themselves up in a 14-4 win.

Brenna Gilchrist took the lead with the most runs on the team. Gilchrist led with three runs.

Harper Booth, the RBI machine, scored five RBIs, two hits, and one run, and was at-bat three times. Booth, Ava Swan, Harley Hennigar, and Devan Becker scored doubles in the victory game.
