COA hosts sponsored Bingo

COLFAX - The Council on Aging in Colfax had its first sponsored Senior Meal Bingo Thursday, April 6.

The grand prize winner of the Thursday game was Terry Leinweber, and

Marva Lynn Smith won the first game.

Sandy Robinson, Nutrition Coordinator, called the Bingo numbers.

Council on Aging Director Paige Collins stated that the sponsor last week was JP Pies.

Collins explained that the day before, everyone in the office came together and learned they already had 12 weeks sponsored.

"The folks that we had in the core group were so excited about it," Collins said, noting that the Council on Aging gave out a few prizes the first time they played.

Collins explained that their core group stayed for five more games.

"They just wanted to play," Collins said.

The Council on Aging has been working on coming up with businesses to sponsor the event. Collins explained that every company they've asked has been on board to support the prizes for the Bingo games.

"We got Bishop Place, Senior Center in Pullman," Collins said, adding that they will be sponsoring the fourth Thursday of the month every month.

She added that Rosauers Manager Sean McAdams provided gift cards for April 13's Bingo game.
