Churches to host services for Good Friday and Easter

COLFAX — Several churches reached out to the Gazette to provide exciting Easter events and services in the local area that will take place this week and weekend.

First Baptist Church is hosting several Easter events. First Baptist Church will start the Easter celebrations with a Good Friday Service on Friday, April 7, at 6 p.m.

On Sunday, April 9, First Baptist Church will start the day with a Sunrise Service at Lookout Park at 7:30 a.m. Easter breakfast will follow the sunrise service from 9 a.m.- 10 a.m. Lastly, First Baptist Church will hold a Christ-centered preaching with brunch, a photo booth, and music at 10:30 a.m. in Colfax.

Also, in Colfax, a joint worship service is set for Friday, April 7, at noon, at Peace Lutheran Church. Peace Lutheran Church will also have a worship service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 9. Following the worship service, a Breakfast will take place at 10 a.m.

Onecho Bible Church will host an Easter Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. overlooking the river. Following the Sunrise Service, Onecho Bible Church will host a free country breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and a Resurrection Service at 10:45 a.m.

Aside from Colfax, many churches in other towns are hosting Easter services.

Endicott’s Trinity Lutheran Church will also have a potluck brunch at 9:30 a.m. and an 11 a.m. worship service.

Palouse Federated Church is hosting a Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Maundy service, Palouse Federated Church will host a Sunrise Service at Greenwood Cemetery at 6 a.m.

Calvary Chapel of the Palouse also has a full day of planned activities.

Calvary Chapel of the Palouse will start the morning with hot chocolate, coffee, and doughnuts available at a self-service station at 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., the church organized a children’s rock hunt. Children will receive a goodie bag with candy and coloring supplies after the rock hunt. The worship service for the church will be at 11 a.m.

Pending any drastic weather changes, the church will move the events to the Calvary Chapel building at 215 E. Church St.

A community Good Friday Service is planned by the Rosalia CommUnity and Rosalia Harvest Assembly of God churches to be held Friday April 7th at 7 pm at the CommUnity church.

Easter morning is the community 6:30 AM sunrise service to be held at the Steptoe monument. This will be immediately followed by a community breakfast at the CommUnity church.

Easter worship services will then be held at each church…. RCC at 10 AM and Harvest Assembly at 10:30 AM.
