LaCrosse Schools hold annual Academic Banquet

LACROSSE - LaCrosse School held its annual Academic Banquet on Monday, March 27, including all the Junior and High School students.

1978 LaCrosse graduate and current Executive Director of WASA-Washington Association of School Administrators Joel Aune was the guest speaker at LaCrosse's Academic Banquet on March 27.

Aune also has served as superintendent of Colfax and Snoqualmie Valley school districts.

To receive academic awards, students must achieve a 3.50 GPA in the previous semester or have an accumulative GPA of 3.50. As a result, 21 students received awards, inducting eight into the National Honor Society.

Part-time Superintendent Doug Curtis stated that the event happens annually on the last Monday of March.

Curtis explained that the formal Banquet means a lot to them, and it's a big celebration with Alumni who speak at the Banquet.

Curtis stated that his favorite part is recognizing students' high academic achievements.

"A 3.5 is a pretty high standard," he said, noting that it's nice to recognize them and the strong teaching staff that supports them.

Curtis explained that four kids could not make it, but he said everyone else could attend, and the event had a good turnout.
