Thomas Edward Schlueter, age 79, passed away February 13, 2023, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, Wash. Tom was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 21, 1943, to Clintford and Roseanna Schlueter. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden in 1961. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force. He received training in computer technology and began a lifelong career as a computer programmer. At first, he worked on computers large enough to fill a room and retired using a laptop.
On November 1, 1969, he married Karen Teig in Pacific Palisades, Calif., together they raised two daughters, Karla and Krista. Karen passed away in 2002.
In 2003 he met Mary Ann Wigen on a Lutheran online dating site and two years later he moved to Colfax. Together they made many cross-country road trips visiting friends and family along the way. During baseball season their trips were centered on taking in professional baseball games. Tom had visited all the major league baseball parks at least once. Ocean and river cruises as well as bus trips highlighted their twenty years together.
Tom will be missed by many including his life partner Mary Ann; daughters, Karla Cannazzaro (Chris), Krista Dagle (Destyn) and grandson Vincent Cannazzaro; brothers, Robert, Jack and his sister, Alma. Also surviving are extended family; Lorna Wigen, Kelli Olsen (David), Cheryl Dolven (Chad), Kristi Nelson, and Peter Wigen (Brandy), and eight grandchildren. A graveside service and inurnment will be held at a later date at Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, Calif. Memorials can be made to the Peace Lutheran Church in Colfax, Wash.
