Coroner determines WSU death as suicide

PULLMAN— WSU freshman Luke Morgan Tyler, 19, of Redmond was found in his college apartment in Pullman Jan. 22, 2023 by Pullman police. Whitman County Coroner Annie Pillers released the cause of death as suicide in a press release from Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Tyler died from acute intoxication due to the combined effects of alcohol and bupropion, according to the release.

According to Tyler’s obituary, he is survived by his parents John and Colleen Tyler of Redmond, and his 17 year-old brother Joshua, who made the following statement.
