Conservation Districts hold joint meeting

COLFAX — The Whitman County Conservation Districts are hosting a joint meeting Wednesday, March 1 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds Community Building outside of Colfax.

The program will feature a panel of area growers, and an overview of funding opportunities and programs from local agencies, as well as highlight each conservation district for the 2022 year.

Two pesticide education credits will be available. The presentations include Washington State Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Assessment Section, Joel Demory, talking about Pesticides and Water Quality: Risk Assessments and How They Affect Product Labels.

USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Plant Materials Center, Steven Lee, talking on Plant Science Technologies to Meet Natural Resource Needs, and Agricultural Economist at Washington State University, Jon Paul Driver, talking about Building Resilient Farms.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and there will be raffle items available.
