Serving Whitman County since 1877
ENDICOTT - The Endicott Food Pantry is moving to a new location in the remodeled building that was formerly the Bank of Whitman, and will have its big opening on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Dave Gilman, who is in charge of the Endicott food pantry, stated that the pantry will be bigger. He confirmed that Tony Anderson of the Electric Company (TNA) in Endicott bought the building, has been remodeling, and donated it to the pantry.
"We're going to do a shopping experience," Gilman said, noting that there will be a regular vegetable area, and a meat department.
"We have the community to support us, and to help," Gilman said.
Jessica Pelissier, volunteer with the Whitman County Sheriff's Posse stated that Saturday, Feb. 4 volunteers from town, and the posse helped move food on a flatbed to the newly renovated building.
The pantry also obtained and put up a new sign, Gilman stated, adding that they are moving in this coming week.
