NWS reports prolonged snow event likely Sunday through Tuesday

Winter storm expected to bring cold air, heavy precipitation

COLFAX—The National Weather Service reports expected widespread snow late Saturday night through Tuesday. Reports say it will likely be a prolonged snow event and not a quick and heavy burst of snow.

Below-normal temperatures are reported to continue with smaller chances of extreme cold after Tuesday, reports the NWS. The cold air could be accompanied by brisk, north winds Tuesday and Wednesday. The NWS also reported that the extreme cold air won’t last long if it moves into the Inland Northwest, with warmer-than-normal temperatures possible by the end of next week.
