Colfax to hold annual Winterfest Dec. 3

Parade, fireworks and many more ways to celebrate

COLFAX — The Colfax Winterfest will be happening on Saturday, Dec. 3. Starting at 8:30 a.m. there will be a sign in for the Run Run Rudolph 5K Fun Run, which will start at 9 a.m.

Director of the Colfax Chamber of Commerce, Molly Keogh, explained the Friends of the Parks who are putting on the 5K Fun Run are offering trucker hats to the first forty who sign up for the run,

The Perkin’s House will be hosting Vintage Christmas Tours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Keogh noted that The Perkin’s House will also have a harpist, cider, and cookies, “of course they’re all decorated for Christmas,” she added.

There will be a Holiday Market on Spring Street from 12 to 6 p.m. Live music will be on the Market Stage from 1 to 4 p.m. “We have food, crafts, art vendors, as well as live music at the winter market on spring street,” Keogh said.

The Center will open early at 12:30 p.m. with the Colfax Library and Festival of Trees from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Baptist Church on Mill Street will have fire pits and cocoa for anyone who wants to get warmed up, Keogh said.

Keogh mentioned that Santa will be at the library from 1 to 3 p.m. to take pictures with. There will be candy canes sponsored by Colfax Rosauers and a cup of cocoa sponsored by Whitman Hospital Medical Center. There will be a preschool story time with Mrs. Claus from 3:30 to 4 p.m. There will be a library van in the Lighted Parade from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Followed by Fireworks at 5:45 p.m.

“I was pleasantly surprised. The community came together, and raised enough for the fireworks, very exciting,” Keogh said.
