Boyer Park boat-launch fees eliminated

COFLAX — The Port of Whitman County has eliminated boat-launch fees for Boyer Park.

Port commissioners decided to end the fees last week as it begins a $6 million upgrade of boating amenities at the park on the Snake River. Previously, the launch fee was $6 per day or $60 for the annual season.

The port is upgrading docks installed in 1975, officials said. The upgrades include constructing three new aluminum and fiberglass docks.

The fuel dock is also being replaced, officials said.

Other new amenities include a restroom near the boat ramp and the addition of a navigational light on the river, officials said.

The Boyer marina is expected to reopen in the spring, officials said.
