Kathleen Ann Martin

Jan. 25, 1944 - Oct. 3, 2022

"How grateful I am to my Heavenly Father that in His plan there are no true endings, only everlasting beginnings." Kathleen "Kathe" Anne Martin rejoined her Heavenly Father in the next step of her everlasting beginning at 12:40pm on October 3, 2022. Born in this world to Esther and Larry Danielson on January 25, 1944, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, she was the oldest daughter to her parents. Her brother Jim and sister Kristy left the journey of life before she did. Kathe loved the dear sisters she grew up with, Laurie, Carly, and Robin so much, and she always felt blessed to be their sister. Kathy married Gary Martin on April Fool's Day, 1972, in Carson City, NV. They had two dimes in their pocket, some snacks in the car, and their love for each other to their name, but that is all they needed. Kathe enjoyed serving others, and was a giver who blessed the lives of so many. She worked as an LPN, a surgery tech, a cardiovascular profusion technician, and a tech in Central Sterile. Kathe and Gary worked together in the surgery department at St. Luke's in KC, Missouri running the heart/lung machine. They had many more adventures throughout their life too including travels throughout North and South America, owning restaurants and other companies, moving over sixty times, and raising four children: Laurie Ann (Kathe's bonus daughter), Lisa Leeanne, Cassie Lee, and David Lawrence Robert. She was an avid garage sale shopper and always enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, cryptograms, playing card games, scrabble, or Rummikub. She never turned down the opportunity to play a game of Go Fish with the grandkids. Kathe's favorite things lately were soft blankets, cats, watching "American Pickers" and Mariner's games, drinking Pepsi, and eating chocolate peanut butter ice cream. She had a witty sense of humor and continued to make jokes, even when forgetting how to do most other things. In her life she enjoyed serving in church, especially with the youth as a primary president, young women's president, and a seminary teacher. She was devoted to her Savior and His plan for her, and once she found her calling to follow Christ, she never wavered from it. She wore many hats over her lifetime: a daughter, a sister, a wife, a hard worker, a friend, a teacher, a leader, a poet, a grandma, and above all, a mother. She was the best mother we could have ever asked for. She knew the perfect balance of teaching us what she thought was right, while still letting us forge our own paths in life. Always a faithful fighter through her trials, she was an example to us all. We know it was hard for you to leave us, but it's time for you to finally be at peace again. We are so excited for the sweet reunion you must have had with your own mother and all those who have loved you from heaven. With hope and faith, you have endured to the end of this part of your journey, and we couldn't be more proud of you. We all love you so much, and will carry you in our hearts until we meet again...your forever family...Welcoming you home...
