CROSS COUNTRY ROUNDUP

Teams in the area competed in two different meets on Sept. 20 and Sept. 24. Here are the results.

Colfax

At the North and South All League Meet on Sept. 20 in Liberty, Colfax junior Jaxon Eads finished 15th out of 95 runners in the varsity 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:17.06. He proceeded to put up a time of 18:27 Sept. 24 at the Hawk Invite in Walla Walla, finishing eighth out of 114 runners.

For the girl’s 5,000m, the Bulldogs had five girls competing. Sophomore Gabby Rabaiotti finished 24th out of 50 runners with a time of 25:33.12. Junior Destiny Nelson finished 28th with a time of 25:55.17. Sophomores Paige Cocking and Grace Jones finished 36th and 37th with times of 27:30.99 and 27:34.41, respectively. And freshman Queenie Mayer finished 46th with a time of 31:05.96.

At the Hawk Invite, Nelson finished 38th out of 80 runners with a time of 26:54, Jones finished 41st with a time of 27:27, Mayer finished 61st with a time of 31:40 and Rabaiotti finished 63rd with a time of 32:19.

Colton

At the North and South All League Meet, Colton freshman Tanner Baerlocher competed in the boy’s 5,000m run, finishing 19th with a time of 18:56.84. Freshman Loren Heistuman finished 87th with a time of 26:52.45.

No girls competed in the girl’s 5,000m.

Garfield-Palouse

Vikings sophomore Kieran Snekvik finished 9th in the boy’s 5,000m run at the North and South All League Meet with a time of 17:35.71. Sophomore Brendan Snekvik finished 11th with a time of 17:37.41. Freshman Isaiah Hightree finished 37th with a time of 20:00.78, Freshman Ayden Bassler finished 45th with a time of 20:31.71, freshman Liam Cook finished 53rd with a time of 20:58.55 and senior Josh Appel finished 55th with a time of 21:17.29.

For the girl’s 5,000m run at the North and South All League Meet, junior Lola Edwards finished 7th with a time of 23:01.21. Senior Kennedy Cook finished 12th with a time of 23:29.59, followed by teammates – junior Ashleigh Hightree and sophomore Courage Hightree who finished 13th and 14th with times of 23:30.73 and 23:33.21, respectively.

Freshman Charlotte Marshall finished 17th with a time of 24:24.67, freshman HettyLee Laughary finished 27th with a time of 25:50.02, junior Ainsley Sievers finished 49th with a time of 31:51.39 and senior Laynie Southern also ran but did not time for the event.

On Sept. 24 at the Connell Invite in Connell, Wash., Brendan Snekvik finished 8th in the boy’s 5,000m out of 129 runners with a time of 18:11. Kieran Snekvik finished 10th with a time of 18:28, Isaiah Hightree finished 45th with a time of 20:20, Appel finished 78th with a time of 21:42, Cook finished 87th with a time of 22:13 and Bassler finished 95th with a time of 22:40.

For the girl’s 5,000m, Cook finished 7th out of 80 runners with a time of 22:15, Courage Hightree finished 11th with a time of 22:47, Ashleigh Hightree finished 14th with a time of 22:54, Edwards finished 57th with a time of 23:32, Laughary finished 57th with a time of 27:48, and Sievers finished 74th with a time of 32:59.

St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse

At the Sept. 20 North and South All League Meet, senior Rory Maloney finished 41st in the boy’s 5,000m with a time of 20:21.12.

For the girl’s 5,000m – sophomore Sarah Quigley finished 53rd with a time of 38:19.77. Sophomore Halee Berg also ran but did not time.

Tekoa-Rosalia

Senior Erik Lazcano finished 8th in the boy’s 5,000m run at the Sept. 20 North and South All League Meet with a time of 17:35.20. He was the only varsity runner for the Timberwolves.
