Tekoa-Rosalia game canceled, and more from this past week

Here’s the week in review for high school football and volleyball

FOOTBALL

Tekoa-Rosalia’s originally scheduled home game against the Liberty Christian Patriots of Richland was canceled due to too many injured and sick players for the Timberwolves. No word on if the game will be rescheduled.

Tekoa-Rosalia played against Sunnyside Christian Sept. 29 in a rematch from Week 1, losing 82-12 to drop to 1-3 on the season.

Prairie 50, Colton/Genesee 22

The Colton/Genesee Bulldogs were unable to unseat the 3-1 (2-0) Prairie Pirates in Idaho Whitepine League competition.

Colton-Genesee (1-3, 0-2) jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first quarter and finished the frame with that score. Prairie went on to score 36 unanswered points in the second and third quarters and outscored the Bulldogs 14-6 in the fourth to secure the 28-point Pirate victory.

A good takeaway in the defeat was the return of starting quarterback Angus Jordan for Colton/Genesee, who was involved in two of the Bulldogs’ three touchdown plays.

Colton/Genesee will next play at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, against Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia, Idaho.
