Diesel stolen at local ranch

COLFAX – Local Colfax ranch owner Tess Griffiths reported to the cops that 12 hundred dollars worth of diesel, a thousand gallons, was stolen from her families ranch on Friday or Saturday night.

“I reported it yesterday. I made a police report,” said Griffiths, “We’ve got farmers there planting seed for us, so it’s very inconvenient. We already paid for it, and it was very expensive.”

Griffiths hopes the cops look into it, but wanted to tell the community. “We’re from Seattle originally. “We moved to Eastern Washington hoping that we didn’t have to worry about this kind of thing,” she said. “We love it here, but we’re disappointed in the recent events.”

Griffiths explained that they didn’t think they needed to keep it padlocked, but one of their neighbors told them if they had a padlock the thiefs could still have cut it.

She seeks to bring awareness to this, and let whoever did it know that they are paying attention.
