Three jailed in drug probe

Deputies find Fentanyl in Palouse, Pullman homes

PALOUSE — Three people are in the Whitman County Jail in connection with a Fentanyl distribution case.

Robert Warren Daggett, 53, and Dawn Marie Daggett, 50, both of Palouse; and Robert Jerome Ensley, 37, of Pullman, are facing drug related charges, records show.

Robert Daggett is being held on a $5,000 bail for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, jail records show. He was booked Friday, June 24.

Dawn Daggett is being held on manufacture/possession/delivery of a controlled substance-Fentanyl, records show. She was booked Monday, June 27, and is being held on $2,500 bail.

Ensley, who was booked Sunday, June 26, is facing charges of manufacture/possession/delivery of a controlled substance-Fentanyl and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, records show. He is being held on $6,000 bail.

They appeared in Whitman County Superior Court on June 22.

The trio were arrested after the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office executed three search warrants a week earlier, records show.

On Friday, June 17, deputies executed a search warrant of a Palouse home after receiving a notice of possible narcotics distribution activity, records show. Around 50 Fentanyl tablets were found in the home.

The following day — Saturday, June 18 — an additional two warrants were issued for homes in Palouse and Pullman.

In total, deputies located more than 120 Fentanyl pills, which the Sheriff’s Office said were to be illegally distributed.

“It is believed all of the narcotics seized were intended for delivery in our area,” the Sheriff’s Office reported via social media.

Sheriff Brett Myers said the recent drug bust is part of a rising trend.

“We’ve definitely seen an increase in synthetic opioid use in the county,” Myers said. “We’ve already seized as much fentanyl this year as we did all of last year.”
