Endicott, Pullman plan Independence Day celebrations

Fireworks, parades and more on tap at July 4 celebrations

ENDICOTT - Two Whitman County communities will be going all out for Independence Day.

Endicott and Pullman are both hosting patriotic events Monday, July 4.

The town of Endicott will be hosting a Fourth of July celebration that includes a parade, fireworks and local food.

The day's festivities will begin with an open swim at Endicott Pool, from 2-8 p.m.

Booths and food vendors are expected to open at 3 p.m., with a pie and dessert shack open from 5-6:30 p.m. Line up for the parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on School Drive by the Endicott Elementary School and the Gun Club, with parade floats of all varieties encouraged to participate.

The parade will start at 7 p.m., going southeast on E Street through town before heading back northwest to Endicott Elementary via Fourth, D and Palouse Streets.

A children's parade will lead the procession, but will take a shorter route on E Street looping back to Endicott Elementary.

To end the day's festivities, fireworks will begin at sundown, and the pool will have another swim until midnight.

In Pullman, the celebration begins at 5 p.m.

There will be live music, food and fireworks, breathing life back into the summer celebration after two years of gubernatorial-mandated coronavirus shutdowns and restrictions.

Live music from local musicians Dan Maher, the Community Band of the Palouse, and hit songs spun by DJ Goldfinger are booked to provide entertainment throughout the evening.

Hamburgers and hotdogs, cotton candy and beverages will be available for purchase, though no ATM will be present for cash withdrawals.

A fireworks display is set to conclude the evening. Attendees are asked to park in designated areas or use Pullman Transit System, which will begin free bussing to the park at 4:30 p.m .
