Commissioners approve bridge replacement
Gottshalk Road to be closed while span work ongoing

COLFAX — Whitman County commissioners voted Monday, June 6, to close a portion of Gottshalk Road as a precursor to replacing Gutchaulk Bridge .
“It’s a wooden bridge currently. It’s an all wood substructure and what we are going to do is completely remove the structure and put in a steel culvert pipe and cover it with gravel,” county Public Works Operations Manager Brandon Kruger told commissioners during their meeting.
Kruger reported that locals can expect closure on Gottschalk Road to allow for bridge and culvert replacement.
