Strong storms in weekend forecast

COLFAX — The National Weather Service is predicting a cold front arriving Thursday that will bring the potential threat of strong thunderstorms.
Additional storm cells will be possible further north in the Spokane and Couer d’Alene area and the Idaho Panhandle.
Gusty westerly winds are predicted to develop Friday as cool and unsettled weather is expected for the holiday weekend. Storms potentially will have brief heavy downpours and wind gusts reaching 40 mph, the service reported.
