Virgil 'Glenn' Vannice

July 23, 1932 to May 5, 2022

In Loving Memory of Virgil "Glenn" Vannice passed away May 5, 2022 in Pullman, Wash., at the age of 89.

Glenn was born July 23, 1932, on the family homestead in Garfield, Wash., to William and Nina Vannice. His mother, Nina, passed away shortly after his birth and he was then cared for by family friends, Charles and Netty Turner in Dayton, Wash.

He was with the Turners for his first six years, at which time he then rejoined his dad, step-mother and two older brothers in Garfield. The family moved to various locations over the years, including McMinnville, Ore., Colfax, Wash., and Chewelah, Wash., where he graduated from high school.

While in Chewelah, he met Donna Salvage, whom he married in 1952. They moved to the Garfield homestead, where they started farming, bringing the homestead back to life.

They started their family and had two daughters, Laurie and Barbara. Glenn farmed in the Garfield and Palouse areas for 20 years.

Glenn was in the Army National Guard for many years, and very proudly achieved the rank of major.

In 1971, Glenn relocated to Colville, where he purchased Mobile Ranch Sales and Mobile Ranch Park.

In 1977, Glenn married Anne Williams. Together, they ran Mobile Ranch Sales, selling mobile homes until 1982. They continued to own, manage and operate Mobile Ranch Park for 40 years.

Glenn and Anne enjoyed traveling together. They took many trips in their motorhome, covering all of the US. They enjoyed several cruises over the years and also traveled to Europe.

Glenn had many interests, including collecting vintage cars, driving them in parades and entering them in car shows, riding his 4-wheeler in Arizona and deep-sea fishing in Alaska.

With his adventurous spirit, he didn't think twice about going on a hot-air balloon ride and zip-lining any chance he could.

He rarely missed meeting his buddies for morning coffee at various locations around town. Glenn greatly enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill and Ken; and great-grand daughter, Kyleaya.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Anne of Colville; daughters, Laurie (Randy) Brown of Oklahoma and Barbara (Mike) Ball of Colville; granddaughters, Jessica (Josh) Ball of Cusick, Wash., Kristin (Tim) Ball of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Stephanie (Cody) Cox of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Carter Odian of Post Falls, Idaho, Judah and Jovan Sutton, both of Cusick, and Dax and Marley Cox of Oklahoma Glenn is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their extended families in Washington, Oregon and Utah.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Eagles Aerie, 608 N Wynne St., Colville. Friends and family are welcome.
