Sol Vallharta owners planning to retire

Couple hopes buyer will stepp forward to run business

COLFAX — The owners of the local Mexican restaurant are hoping someone steps up to buy their business.

Owners Felipe and Luz Guitron are planning on retiring after 28 years in business here, they said last week.

As a result, their Sol Vallharta restaurant at 205 N. Main St. is for sale, they said.

When asked how she felt about retirement, Luz Guitron was both excited and sad.

The couple have worked hard six days-a-week since 1994, she said.

It’s not time for them to retire, Luz Guitron said, noting that her husband is tired.

“When somebody buys, we’re going back to Mexico,” she said.

While disappointed to leave Colfax — which she said is like family to her now — Luz Guitron is excited to spend time with her family there.

“Colfax is the best town. I want to thank everyone for their support, and they’re in my heart forever,” she Guitron said.

Some people have looked at the business, but so far, there isn’t a confirmed buyer.

The couple would like to find a buyer rather than close the doors of the eatery they’ve worked hard to maintain.
